The Hardy Boys are in for a new adventure and you are trying to help them. If you find yourself stuck in the game this walkthrough will hopefully help you to advance.

GENERAL TIPS

  • You can play the game either in timed or untimed mode. You can also change the mode while you are already playing in the "options"-menu.
  • The terms for some of the hidden objects are really confusing sometimes. In one case I had to search for a tin can, though I actually had to click on coffee beans to delete this item from the list.
  • You should also consider that some objects are colored like the background, which can be quite frustrating at times. Therefore it is helpful to examine walls, shelves or similar areas very closely.
  • In the timed mode, you have twelve minutes to finish one scene.

Hints

  • In every scene you can use the hints-button three times. The hints-system itself is a little bit confusing, because you can still push the hints-button when you have already used three hints. This means that you should always wait until only three hidden objects are left until you start using the hints, because in contrast to similar games there is no way to earn additional hints. However, this disadvantage is not that bad, considering that you can always change into the untimed-mode.
  • In the puzzle mini-games, the hint-button only repeats the introductory explanations for the puzzle.
  • If you use a hint, you should immediately concentrate on the scene itself, since the object is sparkling for a very short time only, and if the object is very dark and/or in a corner of the scene, the hint can be easily lost.

The mini-games

Torn letter:

  • In this puzzle you have to recreate a letter that is torn to pieces. You can reassemble it by rotating and combining the different pieces. As soon as you have combined two pieces they stick together. The font, the lines and the margins are good indicators for how to combine the pieces of the letter.
  • Chemical reactions:
  • Here you have to find out a certain sequence of chemical reactions by clicking on differently colored liquids. This puzzle is very similar to the famous game "Mastermind". If you click the right colored liquid it is noted on the left side of the screen, but as soon as you click a wrong chemical you have to start from the beginning. It is very helpful to click the liquids always in the same order to avoid confusion.

The short circuit puzzle:

  • This mini-game consists of the task to connect a number of nodes with only three or four wires. Only nodes in a straight line can be connected.
  • The Codebreaker puzzle:
  • Here you have to rotate nodes to connect same-colored conductions on the left hand and right hand side.
  • Behind the drawer puzzle:
  • In this puzzle you have to arrange four files into the right box. In which box a file has to be put depends either on letters, names, numbers or certain sequences. In one case, one box only contained files with numbers like "22", "55" or "99", while another box only contained files where different names consisted of the same letters.
