GENERAL TIPS

  • The game does not have a timer, you can take your time to solve the puzzles.
  • If a puzzle is too hard, you can skip it by clicking on the "skip" button that is on the lower right side of the scene.
  • In order to use a skip a puzzle, you have to wait for it to fill itself up. Wait until you see the skip button is all the way red, then use the skip if you need to.
  • If you want to use a hint, click on the bullet chamber that is on the lower right side of the scene. Once you click on it a bullet hole will appear in the location of one of the items that you are looking for.
  • Find the bullets in the scene in order to get extra hints. When you see that the bullets disappear from the bullet chamber and the "no hints" sign comes up it means that you cannot use your hints at that time. Your hints will still be there but they will only re-appear in a scene in which you need to look for hidden objects.
  • When the magnifying glass starts spinning it means that there is something there that you need to pick up.
  • If you leave the game in the middle of the scene, you will have to start back from the beginning of that level. If that level had more than one scene, then you will start from the first one you entered.
  • If you don’t want to listen to the dialogue, you can click on the scene repeatedly in order to skip the conversations.

OPENING SCENE

  • Click on the brush that is on the small dresser that is on the floor and it will go into inventory.
  • Click on the fish tank to get a closer view.
  • Grab the brush from inventory and click it onto the bowl 9 times in order to clean the tank out well.
  • Click on the tall cabinet that is in the back of the room and the doors will open.
  • Grab the fish food that is on the right side and it will go into inventory.
  • Grab the food from inventory and place it on the fish bowl.
  • Click on the bowl again and the pop-up window will disappear.
  • The phone starts ringing, pick it up.

FIND 20 BLUE ENVELOPES

  • The location of the first envelope will be shown to you, the screenshot will show you where the rest are.
  • Pick up the bullets that you find around the scene and you will receive extra hints.

UNEXPECTED OBSTACLE-DOOR PUZZLE

  • A door puzzle will appear on the scene you have to click on the squares until all the pieces fall in place.
  • There are 4 squares, from left to right, I will number them 1 through 4
  • 1-When you click on this one it only changes itself.
  • 2-This one changes all the squares at one time.
  • 3-This square changes, squares 1, 3 and 4 only
  • 4-When you click on this square, it turns number 1 and 4 only.
  • follow these steps…
  • Click on square number 2 a total of 3 times.
  • Click on square number 3 a total of  2 times.
  • Click on square number 4 a total of 2 times.
  • Click on square number 1 a total of 2 times.

FIND EVIDENCE

  • Use the magnifying glass to look for evidences around the scene. You will need to find the following items.
  • When you find an item click on it and the number of evidences will be reduced by one.
  • Blood
  • Hair
  • Blue Thread
  • Fingerprint
  • Button
  • Piece of red cloth.
  • Brown smudge

FLASHBACK-LOOK INTO THE PAST

  • Click on the scene in order to make the picture current.
  • Just click on the scene and the squares will change the pictures that are in the scene.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the solution.


FIND PIECES OF THE ANALYZER AND ASSEMBLE THEM

  • Click on the picture that is on the lower right side of the ground.
  • The picture shows you what the analyzer should look like. The picture can be viewed by clicking on it when it goes in the lower right corner of the scene.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the location of all the items.
  • Once you find 10 pieces start assembling them on the left side on top of the counter.
  • Place all the glass retorts on first , then place the burner on the lower left side of the table.

GAUGE/ GLASS RETORT/REAGENT

  • Click on the reagent that is on the right side of the room,you will get a closer view.
  • You will see a needle moving, a green button and a gauge.
  • Click on the green button when the gauge reaches the green part of the gauge.The green part will move to a different part of the gauge, repeat the same step as above.
  • You will need to hit the green area, three times in a row in order to move on to the next section.
  • Once you get to the next area, click on the buttons to change the images. You want the image to look like a glass retort.
  • Please look at the video and the screenshot for additional help.

BUTTON SEQUENCE/ REAGENT FORMULA

  • Reproduce the 3 sequences in which the buttons are pushed.
  • Look at the sequence in which the buttons are being pushed and then you duplicate it in the same manner. Once you get the first sequence right, the first button will remain yellow. Then follow the same steps until all the buttons have turned a solid yellow.
  • Click on the faucet to make the water run and the reagent formula will form in the glass bottle,click on the formula.
  • Place the formula on the beaker that is on the counter, left side.
  • Place the fuel on the burner first and then place the matches on the burner.
  • Once the reagent has been analyzed Nick Chase will say "OK,Now for the results"..click on the faucet that is at the end of the analyzer.
  • Then click on the glass retort that is under the test tube once it is filled.

UNLOCKING JOE’S APARTMENT

  • Click on the trashcan, grab the bullet that is inside (the bullet could also be in other places)
  • Grab the red tape that is inside as well.
  • Place the tape on the wire that is on the right edge of the scene and then click on the light switch that is at the end of the wire and the lights will turn on.
  • Click on the doormat and you will find a key underneath it, pick it up.
  • Click on the door that is on the left side, the one closest to the steps and you will get a pop-up view of the lock.
  • Place the key in the keyhole, click on the deadbolt lock,above the keyhole ONE time and then click on the handle, the first deadbolt will open.
  • Click on the deadbolt lock 3 times (until the small end of the lock is facing upwards)then click on the handle again, the second deadbolt will open.
  • Click on the deadbolt lock 3 times so the lock is facing to the left and the door will open.


JOE THE SCRIBBLER’S ROOM-FIND THE PIECES OF THE CHEST

  • Please look at the screenshot for the location of the pieces.
  • Once all the pieces have been found, place the puzzle pieces on Joe’s chest that is on the left side of the red couch.


ASSEMBLE THE PUZZLE

  • Place the puzzle pieces together by clicking them in place.
  • Look at the patterns at the base of the puzzle, you will see some lines, look for shapes that have the same type of shape and click them in place.
  • When a piece is in the right place, you will see a message that says "OK" flash in the screen.
  • The eyes will be the hardest ones to place, if they are not covering the entire eye area, the game will not accept it.

ROAD TO THE CLUB

  • This is a random solution, it all depends on the pieces that are handed to you during your game.
  • This is like a pipe puzzle in a sense, you have to build a solid line between the first entrance on the left side of the page and the exit on the right side of the page.
  • You don’t have any control over the pieces that are on your cursor. You have to either use a piece that is on your cursor or throw it away. If you decide to place a piece on the road, you cannot move it again.
  • At a certain point (when the meter turns red) the car will come out of the left side of the page onto the part that you’ve already built. If the road is not completed at that point you can continue to build the road as the car is traveling.
  • However, if the car reaches the end of the line and the road is not complete you will have to start over.


STRANGER’S PASSAGE PUZZLE

  • Arrange all the puzzle pieces together. Please look at the screenshot for the solution.


DONNIE’S WORKSHOP-USE THE LAB TO CREATE A COPY OF THE PERMIT (VIP PASS)

  • Click on the drawer that is on the lower right side and it will open, click on the gold paper and you will see a gold VIP card appear in the top left corner of the scene.
  • Grab the red pen that is on the left side of the table and it will go into inventory.
  • Place the pen on the light table and you will get a closer view of Ron’s signature.
  • Your goal is to trace the parts of the signature that are in red. As you finish one part another will highlight and so and so forth.
  • Once you’re done tracing the signature, it will appear on the gold VIP card that is on top of the page.
  • Pick up the roll of film that is on the left side of the desk, inside the slightly open drawer.
  • Place the film in the camera that is on the top right side of the page.Nick tells you that the camera is ready.
  • Click on the camera to take a picture. the roll of film will go back into inventory.
  • Click on the door that is on the right side of the scene to enter the darkroom.


THREE STEPS FOR MAKING THE ROOM DARK

  • 1-Click on the darkroom door that is on the left side of the page and the door will close.
  • 2-Click on the fan that is on the top right side of the page because it is letting the light come into the darkroom.
  • 3-You also need to click on the 3 beams of light that are coming through the cloth on the back wall.
  • Once all the sources of light have disappeared you can continue with the level.

COLLECT 9 BOTTLES

  • Pick up the water bottle that is next to the tub.
  • Under the sink.
  • in the open cabinet that is against the back wall.
  • Top right side on the shelf.
  • Lower right side, on the shelf that is on the floor.
  • Lower left side, next to the tub.
  • On the back wall, above the sink.
  • Lower right side, on top of the counter.
  • Lower center, on the floor.


MIX REAGENTS IN SIMILAR AMOUNTS TO OBTAIN THE NEGATIVE

  • Place the film on the small round tray that is on the lab table and you will get a closer view of the dish.
  • Place the ingredients on the tray so that each color measures exactly 60.
  • Top left side, add the "50" and "10" green bottles.
  • Top right side, add the "40" and "20" red bottles.
  • Lower side, add only the blue bottle marked "60".
  • Once everything is mixed correctly, the negative will go into inventory.
  • Place the "negative" on the ”photographic enlarger” that is on the back wall, above the cabinet that is next to the sink and the developed picture will go into inventory.
  • Click on the door to go back to Donnie’s worksop.


USE THE LAB TO CREATE A COPY OF THE PERMIT (VIP PASS)

  • Click on the "old permit" that is on the lower right corner of the page, just above the game’s "skip" button. This is the permit that you want to copy.
  • Place the picture from inventory onto the gold "VIP" card that is on top of the page and the picture will go in the top left corner.
  • Click on the shelf that is above the desk, right side of the back wall and you will get a pop-up window.
  • Spell out the word "GOLDEN CATS" but it has to be placed backwards, so you have to place the tiles on the holder in the following manner…
  • "STAC NEDLOG" You have to leave a space in between the  two words but you have to make sure that you place a blank tile there, you cannot leave it empty.
  • Make sure that the letters you choose are a mirror image of the actual letters, in other words, they have to face backwards.
  • Once the last tile has been placed correctly the stamp will go into inventory automatically.
  • Grab the stamp and place it on the VIP card to end the level.

FLASHBACK SCENE

  • Click on the tiles in order to swap the pictures around. The pieces will not lock into place until you’ve completed the whole picture.
  • The pictures can be swapped in any order, you can click on them whether they are next to each other or not.
  • When the picture is complete, click on the gun that is flashing on the left side of the floor.


MCKENZIE’S OFFICE-GAIN ACCESS TO THE DATABASE


 

  • Click on the top left side of the page and you will get a closer view of some books. Nick tells you that a few books are missing from the shelves.
  • File the books according to their alphabetical name. Each time a book is the right place, a number will appear on the spine.You will use those numbers for the combination of the safe.
  • Once you’re done with the numbers,leave that pop-up window open. Open the pop-up window for the safe by clicking on it.
  • You want to enter the numbers on the safe in the same order that they are in on the books.
  • You can have both windows open in order to enter the code.
  • The numbers are in the following order…
  • 5 4 8 2
  • 1 8 3 7
  • Once the code has been entered the safe will open automatically. Click on the punch card that is inside.
  • Place the punch card on the database and a new window will appear. It will ask you to enter the password.

ENTER THE PASSWORD

  • You can type in the answer by clicking on the keyboard that is on the scene or by entering the code on your own keyboard.
  • You will enter whichever letter comes to mind. If the letter is in the password, it will show up on the monitor. if it’s not in the solution then that letter will go under the asterisks.
  • The first word will always be random, the solution all depends on your game.These are the passwords that I encountered while playing:
  • "PASSWORD"’
  • "MARGARET"
  • "TEDDY"
  • "PAROLE"
  • "PASS"
  • There may be others and I will update the guide when I find them.
  • The second word is always the same "FRANKIE" or "FATSO" are your two choices as far as I can see.
  • As soon as you type that in, Frankie the Fatso’s info will appear on the monitor.
  • Click on the screen to advance the info that is on the screen about Frankie.


ROAD TO FRANKIE’S

  • You have to build a solid line between the first entrance on the left side of the page and the exit on the right side of the page.
  • You don’t have any control over the pieces that are on your cursor. You have to either use a piece that is on your cursor or throw it away. If you decide to place a piece on the road, you cannot move it again.
  • At a certain point (when the meter turns red) the car will come out of the left side of the page onto the part that you’ve already built. If the road is not completed at that point you can continue to build the road as the car is traveling.

DIRTY BACKYARD

  • Grab the umbrella that is inside the trashcan.
  • Click on the ladder and a rod will fall to the ground, pick up the rod that falls to the ground. The rod will fall on the lower left side, in front of the small garbage can.
  • Click on the brick that is on the lower left side of the trash can and the word "OK" will appear. The brick  is blocking the trash can so you need to click on that so the large trash can will move.
  • Click on the trash can and the bin will move closer to the ladder, grab the bullet that is against the wall.
  • Place the umbrella on the ladder that is on the left side of the scene and the ladder will extend.
  • Grab the rod from inventory and place it on the alarm box and you will get another scene.


CLOSE THE CIRCUIT TO TURN OFF THE ALARM SYSTEM

  • Click on a circle in order to rotate it.You have to connect all the wires until all the light bulbs light up and both ends of the wires are connected.
  • You will know that all the connections are correct when you see the green light come on.
  • The solution in the screenshot should be the same for everyone.


FRANKIE THE FATSO’S ROOM-FIND AND OPEN THE SAFE.

  • Click on the statue of liberty that is on the left side of the page and the game will tell you that you’ve found 1 out 4 levers in the game.
  • Click on the gold golf club that is in the golf bag.
  • Click on the steering wheel that is on the right  side of the scene, on the wall.
  • Click on the jack in the box that is on the left side of the desk.
  • Click on the large painting that is on the back wall and you will see a combination safe.Click on it to see a closer view.
  • Look for the pattern for the buttons somewhere in the room.
  • The carpet has the pattern for the safe. Enter the pattern that is on the carpet on the keypad to end the level.

MOTEL ROOM-WAIT FOR NIGHT-SUDOKU PUZZLE

  • In this scene you have to wait for the sun to go down before you can do anything in the scene.
  • Click on the newspaper and you will get a closer view of it. Click on the lower right corner where you see the Sudoku puzzle.


MOTEL ROOM-FIND THE DOOR TO THE NEIGHBORING ROOM

  • Click on the screwdriver that is on the nightstand, by the bed.
  • Click on the curtains to close them.
  • Click on the lower left side of the dresser WITH THE LIGHTER. Nick will say that he feels a draft, drop the lighter back in inventory.
  • Then click on the lower right side of dresser again but without the lighter and it will move to the side, revealing Graham’s door.
  • Click on the door that is on the RIGHT side of the room  and you will get a closer view of the lock.
  • Place the screwdriver on each screw until one by one they all come off.
  • The handle will go into inventory.
  • Place the handle on Graham’s door and then click on it and you will get a combination lock.
  • Click on the lock and turn it clockwise until you hear it click, wait for the lock to drop.
  • Click on the lock again but this time turn it counter-clockwise until you hear it click, let the lock drop.
  • Lastly, click on the lock and turn it clockwise until you hear it click and let the lock drop one last time.
  • In the video, it may look a little confusing since I wasn’t letting the lock drop before I turned it again, just keep that in mind when looking at the video.


CATCH UP TO THE OTHER DRIVER

  • In this scene, you have to lay 3 pieces of the road at a time. Each time you drop 3 pieces on the road, your opponent will do the same.
  • The goal here is to lay the road down just right in order to catch up with your opponent.
  • Whatever tracks you don’t want to use must go in the trashcan.

FLASHBACK SCENE SLIDER

  • In this scene you have to recreate the newspaper by sliding the pieces around until they look like the picture in the screenshot.
  • Just click on any square that has an empty spot next to it and the piece will move to the empty spot.


THROUGH THE BUILDING-FIND A SAFE ROUTE FOR THE CRADLE

  • Click on the bushes that are in the scene in order to move Nick safely over there. You have to be careful that you don’t move him at a time in which one of the spotlights will focus on him or the cops will catch him and take him away.
  • It is best to look at the pattern of the lights and move Nick when the spotlights are far away from the next bush that you plan to take him to.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the best way to proceed.
  • Once you get to the end of where the yellow arrows are pointing to in the screenshot you will enter the devil’s hatchway.



FIND 16 KEYS IN THE DEVIL’S HATCHWAY

  • Please look at the screenshot for the location of all the keys.
  • Once you’ve collected all the keys, they will appear in inventory.
  • Place the keys on the lock that is on top of the scene, by the ladder and you will be back outside.
  • As you pass through the yard  you will pick up the shears that are on the top right side, they look like an "X" on the ground.
  • It you fail to get through without being caught by the light, you will have to start from the beginning of the yard.
  • Once you pick up the shears, go back to the last bush that you were on and a mini game will appear.
  • NOTE: There seems to be a small glitch in the game, you may not always get to the cradle even if you follow all the steps correctly. The steps in the video are the only way to get to the cradle. If those steps are not working for you, exit the game and come back to it. You may have to do it several times before it works. If worse comes to worse, use the "SKIP" button to bypass this mini game.

MATCH-3 GAME

  • This is a typical match-3 game, the only difference is that you have to drag a row in order to slide towards other gems that match it.
  • Your goal is to eliminate all the pieces of the fence so Nick can get through it.


NEAR THE FINISHED SKYSCRAPER-COLLECT THE GEARS

  • Click on the hoisting motor that is on the right side, under the window and you will be asked to find 13 gears. Please look at the screenshot for all 13 gears.
  • Place the assembled gear on the hoisting motor and you will get a new scene.


CONNECT THE GEARS

STRANGE ROOM-OPEN THE SECRET DOOR
 

  • Click on the table and solve the circular puzzle by spinning the inner circles around until everything is  lined up.
  • Once all the pieces are correct, the puzzle will spin around and you will see a different view of it.
  • Pick up the 6 lunar symbols around the scene.
  • When you click on the lunar symbol that the statue on the left is holding, it will fall down to the ground and break.
  • Click on the broken lunar symbol that is on the left side of the floor and  put the pieces back together.
  • Click on the round table again and now place all the 5 lunar symbols that you have in inventory on the circles that are inside. Place the pieces on the matching circles that are on the puzzle.
  • Once all the pieces are inside, a key will appear in the center.
  • Close out the window and place the key on the door to complete that level.


FORWARD TO THE ELEVATOR-CLEAR THE PASSAGE TO THE ELEVATOR

  • In this scene you need to turn off the valves once the steam has let up. Look for the gauges that are not moving and then click on the valve that is connected to it.
  • Please look at the screenshot and you will see which valves are connected to specific gauges.
  • Once all the valves have been shut off, click on the elevator’s up and  down buttons  and you will see the cables coming down above the elevator.Click on the door  to bring up a mini puzzle.


USE THE ELEVATOR BUTTONS TO MOVE IT UPWARDS

  • There are three different sections that you must solve in this part of the game if you want to move the elevator upwards.
  • Each section will be explained separately, some with videos, some with screenshots.


FIRST ELEVATOR SEQUENCE

  • In this section you need to push on the buttons in such a manner that at the end all the buttons are lit.
  • When you click on one button, it affects other buttons in the area. To reverse a step that you did not want to make just click on the last button that you pressed.
  • If you look at the screenshot provided you will notice that there are 3 buttons that are highlighted. In the end those will be the 3 buttons that need to be pushed in order to keep all the buttons lit.
  • In order to accomplish that you will have to make a series of moves that will free up those particular buttons so you can press on them.


SECOND ELEVATOR SEQUENCE

  • In this instance you will need to click on the buttons, look at the images that are on them and find their match.
  • The solution to this puzzle is random so there could be many different solutions.


LAST  ELEVATOR SEQUENCE

  • This puzzle works pretty much in the same manner as the first puzzle in this section. Your goal is to press on the buttons in such a manner that all the buttons are lit in the end.
  • Please look at the video provided to see an example on how to accomplish this.

THE PENTHOUSE

  • Click on the blinking red light and you will see a new window open up that contains a clock. The goal here is to pair up the Roman numerals with the Arabic numbers.
  • All you have to do is place the minute hand and the hour hand on the two numbers that match. It doesn’t matter which hand goes on which number as long as the numbers match.
  • Pair up the following numbers:
  • 1 and XI
  • 3 and III
  • 4 and IV
  • 5 and LV
  • 22 and II
  • 66 and VI
  • Once all the matches have been made, you will be taken to the next puzzle.

PUZZLE

  • You have to click on the tile in order to rotate them. Your goal is to place all the tiles in the right order.
  • Once the pictures are all in place then you need to click on the red button so you can move on to the final puzzle.


THE BOMB-FIND AND SEVER THE CONNECTING WIRE

  • The objective to this is to find the wire that is connected to both sides of the connection.
  • This puzzle seems complicated but it is actually very simple. All you have to do is click on the first green wire that is on the left side of the page.
